Metropolis has proven to be an inspirational film. German Vogue did an editorial spread based around the film, and I think it would be really good to look into the kind of clothing they put together as it would be good to do something similar for elements of our fashion film.
I found this collage of Metropolis styling on a blog when searching the internet and thought it might be useful when putting together outfits for our shoots. The colours black and silver seem to work well to create a sci-fi feel. The glitter/diamonds look great too.
Fashion designer Thierry Mugler was also inspired by Metropolis when designing his perfume bottles for the fragrances 'Alien', and 'Womaninity'. There were also elements of Metropolis when he designed the costumes for Beyonce's 2009 'I Am...' tour, where she was seen wearing metal suits and a metal hand during the music video for the song 'Single Ladies'.
